Above barrier potential diffusion [PDF]
The stationary phase method is applied to diffusion by a potential barrier for an incoming wave packet with energies greater than the height of the barrier. It is observed that a direct application leads to paradoxical results.

Potential barrier of graphene edges [PDF]
We calculated row resolved density of states, charge distribution and work function of graphene’s zigzag and armchair edge (either clean or terminated alternatively with H, O, or OH group). The zigzag edge saturated via OH group has the lowest work function of 3.76 eV, while the zigzag edge terminated via O has the highest work function of 7.74 eV. The

Homeostasis of the gut barrier and potential biomarkers [PDF]
The gut barrier plays a crucial role by spatially compartmentalizing bacteria to the lumen through the production of secreted mucus and is fortified by the production of secretory IgA (sIgA) and antimicrobial peptides and proteins. With the exception of sIgA, expression of these protective barrier factors is largely controlled by innate immune ...

Steering the potential barriers: Entropic to energetic [PDF]
We propose a new mechanism to alter the nature of the potential barriers when a biased Brownian particle under goes a constrained motion in narrow, periodic channel. By changing the angle of the external bias, the nature of the potential barriers changes from purely entropic to energetic which in turn effects the diffusion process in the system.

The photodetection performance of the quantum dot infrared photodetector (QDIP) is always a hot topic. In this paper, a model is proposed for the photocurrent of the QDIP, which not only considers the influence of the potential barrier around quantum dot

The combined viscous semi-classical limit for a quantum hydrodynamic system with barrier potential [PDF]
We investigate the viscous model of quantum hydrodynamics, which describes the charge transport in a certain semiconductor. Quantum mechanical effects lead to third order derivatives, turning the stationary system into an elliptic system of mixed order ...

Photocatalytic nonoxidative dehydrogenation of anhydrous methanol can be a promising approach to producing formaldehyde and hydrogen as it can avoid catalyst degradation occurred at high temperature in conventional catalysis.

Investigation of fragmentation reactions of exotic nuclei in a high-energy approximation
Studies of the properties of nuclei remote from the "valley of nuclear stability" make it possible to predict the properties of new nuclides based on systematic accumulations of data on the structure of nuclear matter.
