Barriers vs potentials

Archnet-IJAR: International Journal of Architectural Research, 2019
Purpose In 2017, 50 percent of Syrian refugee applications in Egypt were submitted by females. However, a suitable integration strategy for this target group remains obscure since the available approaches focus mainly on male integration. That is due to the assumption that women refugees are mere followers to men who socially and economically dominate

On the Potential Barrier of Schottky Junctions

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1972
It is shown on the basis of the thermionic emission model, how the effective potential barrier height φBn 0 at 0 °K, its mean temperature coefficient , and its temperature coefficient αT for different temperatures can be determined from the forward i–U charactreristics of Schottky junctions. The derived equations were examined with data from literature

Potential Barriers to Diabetes Care

Diabetes Care, 1983
To examine a potential reason why physicians sometimes fail to adhere to standards of care with which they are in agreement, 103 consecutive patients with diabetes mellitus were interviewed immediately after their doctor's appointment in a general medicine clinic of a city/county hospital. The mean age of the patients was 57 yr and the average duration

Potential Barriers to Adherence in Pediatric Dermatology

Pediatric Dermatology, 2011
Abstract:  This study sought to identify barriers to treatment in children with chronic inflammatory skin disease, particularly those with atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne vulgaris. Caregivers of 101 patients seen in the Children’s Specialty Group Division of Dermatology, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Norfolk, Virginia, completed ...

Electric potential barriers in the magnetic nozzle

Physical Review E, 2020
Magnetic nozzles are convergent-divergent applied magnetic fields which are commonly used in electric propulsion, manufacturing, and material processing industries. This paper studies the previously overlooked physics in confining the thermalized ions injected from a near-uniform inlet in the magnetic nozzle. Through fully kinetic planar-3V particle-in-

Potential barriers in diagrams

Physics Education, 1970
Attention is drawn to common errors in diagrams of wave functions associated with the incidence of uniform beams of particles on potential barriers. The role of time dependence (i.e. phase of the incident wave) is emphasized and simple solutions, with detailed diagrams, are given for a potential step and for a rectangular potential barrier.
