On bifurcation from infinity for potential operators
The authors consider the equation (1) \(Lu+G(u)=\lambda u\) where \(L\) is a bounded linear selfadjoint operator on the Hilbert space \(X\) and \(G\in C(\Omega,X)\) is of potential type. They are concerned with solutions of equation (1) which bifurcate from infinity: more precisely \((\mu,\infty)\) is a bifurcation point from infinity if, for any ...

Infinitely many solutions for fractional Schrödinger equation with potential vanishing at infinity
The paper investigates the following fractional Schrödinger equation: (−Δ)su+V(x)u=K(x)f(u),x∈RN, $$\begin{aligned} (-\Delta )^{s}u+V(x)u=K(x)f(u), \quad x\in \mathbb{R}^{N}, \end{aligned}$$ where ...

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

On some Schrödinger equations with non regular potential at infinity
In this paper we study the existence of solutions $u\in H^1(\R^N)$ for the problem $-\Delta u+a(x)u=|u|^{p-2}u$, where $N\ge 2$ and $p$ is superlinear and subcritical. The potential $a(x)\in L^\infty(\R^N)$ is such that $a(x)\ge c>0$ but is not assumed to have a limit at infinity. Considering different kinds of assumptions on the geometry of $a(x)$

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

We consider the principle of least action in the context of fractional calculus. Namely, we derive the fractional Euler–Lagrange equation and the general equation of motion with the composition of the left and right fractional derivatives defined on ...

An Infinity Tube with an Expansion Chamber for Noise Control in the Ductwork System
This paper proposes a muffler with simple geometry to effectively reduce low-frequency noise in ductwork systems. A muffler named infinity tube with an expansion chamber (ITEC) is developed from the infinity tube (IT).

Bound states of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with potentials vanishing at infinity
We deal with a class on nonlinear Schrödinger equations (NLS) with potentials V(x)\sim |x|^{-\alpha} , 0<\alpha<2 , and K(x)\sim |x|^{-\beta ...
