Predicting Potential School Problems
Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1973Normal students in Grade 6 and students referred for psychological services in a rural school were administered intelligence, reading, personality, achievement, and visual-motor tests. With 22 variables, a step-wise multiple regression analysis for predicting potential school problems yielded vocabulary, average reading abilities, intelligence, and ...

On a problem of potential wells
1995This paper gives a result for the existence of a minimizer for an energy functional of the kind \(\int_\Omega g(\nabla u(x))dx\), where \(g\) is nonnegative and is zero only on potential wells described by rotations of finitely many matrices \(A_1,\dots,A_r\). The problem of finding a minimizer is than equivalent to solving the differential inclusion \[

Food Processing Problems and Potential
1976The English verb to process is derived from the Latin procedure, which means “to go on or to move from one place to another.” Only in the late 19th century did the verb to process acquire the connotation of subjecting a material or substance to a treatment that would cause it to change its form or properties.

An Inverse Problem for Biharmonic Potentials
Mathematische Nachrichten, 1986This paper treated the following inverse problem for biharmonic potentials: Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded regular domain in \(R^ 2\) or \(R^ 3\) and let \(f_ B\) and \(f_ H\) be two given continuous functions on the complement \(C\Omega\) of \(\Omega\) satisfying \(-\Delta f_ B=f_ H\) and \(\Delta^ 2f_ B=-\Delta f_ H=0\) in the exterior of \(\Omega ...

Cities and Regions: Problems and Potentials [PDF]
The central concern is with the nature of cities and regions and the vagueness that appears to have enveloped each of these terms. Consideration is initially given to the ‘built city’ and how this perspective on the city may be extended in several ways. There follows an examination of the region, with a brief exploration of the classification proposed

Potential problems with testicular prostheses
Urology, 1986In a survey of members of the Western Section of the American Urological Association who had testicular prostheses inserted within the preceding ten years, the responses indicated that the overall complication rate for this procedure is low. Generally, the scrotal cavity distends easily to a size adequate to accommodate the prosthesis.

Treating the potential problem patient
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 2001Problem patients exist in all dental practices. In this article, I have described methods of identifying these people and assisting them in becoming acceptable patients. I also have made suggestions to reduce the inconveniences encountered when treating problem patients.

Problem of Subtractions in Potential Scattering
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1965We study the problem of subtractions in potential scattering theory. We show that the single spectral functions can be obtained by analytic continuation of the Mellin transform of the double spectral function. The N/D method could thus be avoided, in principle.
