Potential well method forp(x)-Laplacian equations with variable exponent sources
, 2020In this paper, we study a class of semilinear p ( x ) -Laplacian equations with variable exponent sources. By using potential well method, we first prove a threshold results on the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the equations when ...

Steep potential well may help Kirchhoff type equations to generate multiple solutions
, 2020In this paper, we consider a nonlinear Kirchhoff type problem with steep potential well: − a ∫ R 3 ∇ u 2 d x + b Δ u + λ V ( x ) u = f x | u | p − 2 u in R 3 , u ∈ H 1 ( R 3 ) , where a , b , λ > 0 , 2 p 4 , V ∈ C ( R 3 , R + ) and f ∈ L ∞ ( R 3 , R ) .

Soliton transformation between different potential wells
Optics Letters, 2023This paper presents a novel, to the best of our knowledge, method for realizing soliton transformation between different potential wells by gradually manipulating their depths in the propagation direction. The only requirements for such a transformation are that the gradient of the manipulated depth is smooth enough and the solitons in different ...

Abstract A new method of calculating betatron field parameters is described. Using a medel betatron field, the effective radial potential well, orbit radius, and ratio of central field to orbit field are obtained. It is shown that potential wells of sufficient depth for electron injection into plasma betatrons can be achieved without difficulty.

Supersymmetry and Double-Well Potentials
Physical Review Letters, 1988The ideas of supersymmetric quantum mechanics are applied to the tunneling problem for double-well potentials. We evaluate the tunneling by developing a systematic perturbation expansion whose leading term is an improvement over the standard WKB result. We find that the perturbation series converges rapidly.

Engineering Dielectric Screening for Potential-well Arrays of Excitons in 2D Materials.
ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2020Tailoring of the band gap in semiconductors is essential for the development of novel devices. In standard semiconductors, this modulation is generally achieved through highly energetic ion implantation.

Optimal potential well for maximizing performance of bi-stable energy harvester
Applied Physics Letters, 2019This letter provides an investigation on the combined influence of the potential barrier (ΔE) and separation gap of a double well (Δx) to maximize the performance of an electromagnetic bistable energy harvester (BEH).
