Resistance resonance in coupled potential wells
Physical Review Letters, 1990A new resistance resonance effect based on the quantum-mechanical delocalization of electrons in a symmetric-double-well potential is presented. We show that changing the symmetry of the potential profile gives rise to a resistance peak if the transport properties of the two wells are different.

Potential-well model in acoustic tweezers
IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2010Standing-wave acoustic tweezers are popularly used for non-invasive and non-contact particle manipulation. Because of their good penetration in biological tissue, they also show promising prospects for in vivo applications. According to the concept of an optical vortex, we propose an acoustics-vortex- based trapping model of acoustic tweezers.

Escape of a forced-damped particle from weakly nonlinear truncated potential well
Nonlinear dynamics, 2019Escape from a potential well is an extreme example of transient behavior. We consider the escape of the harmonically forced particle under viscous damping from the benchmark truncated weakly nonlinear potential well.

Potential games and well-posedness properties
Optimization, 2008The aim of this article is to study potential games which are a special class of games, in fact their properties are dictated by a single function called the potential function. We consider Tikhonov well-posedness and other well-posedness properties introduced by the authors in Margiocco et al. (Margiocco, M., Patrone, F.

The paper considers a transient process of escape of a classical particle from a one-dimensional potential well. We address a particular model of the infinite-range potential well that allows independent adjustment of the well depth and of the frequency ...

Reconstruction of quantum well potentials
Physics of Particles and Nuclei Letters, 2009The intertwining operator technique is applied to the generalized Schrodinger equation with a position-dependent effective mass. It is shown on concrete examples how to construct the quantum well potential with a desired spectrum for the Schrodinger equation with a nonhermitian kinetic energy operator.

Multiple Potential Well Precision Oscillators
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2021This research demonstrates how to take advantage of the nonlinear dynamics associated with multiple oscillation devices such that performance of a conventional single stable oscillation device can be improved. Conventional oscillators rely on nonlinear dynamics associated with a single stable oscillation.
