Potentiation of the habituation of human brain potentials
Biological Psychology, 1980A single-trial analysis, using the cross-covariance function to locate and quantify individual visual evoked potentials (VEPs), is employed to assess run-by-run changes in the habituation function of the N1-P2 wave of the vertex VEP. The characteristic exponential form of this function is shown to be less pronounced later in the experimental session ...

The Potential of Potentiality Arguments
2017We contend that both the defenders and critics of potentiality arguments in the abortion debate have failed to appreciate the morally relevant aspects of potential. Crucial for understanding the moral significance of potentiality is the fact that mindless organisms have interests but only in their healthy development.

Clarifying market potentials and sales potentials
Services Marketing Quarterly, 1991Although market potential and sales potential are two terms widely used by marketers, there is significant disagreement about their precise meaning. This paper disaggregates each term into its key components in an attem t to provide definitions that make sense to most marketers and wil lead to greater consistency in their usage.

Negative membrane potentials potentiate multicellularity
BioSystemsWhy did evolution almost exclusively select negative membrane potentials? Why did natural selection not favour positive membrane potentials? Further, membrane constituents are also negatively charged, in the form phospholipids. Putative cis-charge repulsion represents an obstacle to the emergency of multicellularity. This is compounded by the fact that

The problem of solar radiation harvesting using photovoltaic (PV) plants with fixed orientation is compared with PV plants with horizontal axis tracking and vertical axis tracking. Problem of bifacial panel and of albedo is also discussed. Land occupancy and geographic potential are analyzed.

A greater plasma concentration of insulin after isoglycemic enteral than after parenteral administration of glucose is called the incretin effect. The primary mediator of this effect, gastric inhibitory polypeptide, may not account for the complete manifestation of this phenomenon.

Potential Time: The Music of Potential Space
The Psychoanalytic QuarterlyThis paper introduces potential time as a psychoanalytic concept that extends and complements Winnicott's potential space. Revisiting Freud's principle of constancy, Winnicott's theory of transitional phenomena, and Peter Goldberg's contemporary insights on framing, transitionality, and duration, it develops potential time as both a theoretical ...
