Maternal Perinatal Gut Microbiome Is Shaped by Traditional Farming Lifestyle and Associated With Early Childhood Atopic Disease

We assessed whether the maternal perinatal gut microbiome and serum SCFA and cord blood SCFA differ between traditional farming and urban dyads. Shotgun Metagenomics Reveals Skin Microbiome Composition and Function in Infant Atopic Disease

Deep shotgun metagenomics profiled > 1000 infant skin swabs in the VITALITY cohort. Distinct skin microbiome signatures separated AD alone from AD with allergic co‐occurrence. Early Staphylococcus enrichment preceded later AD with allergic co‐occurrence. FLG mutations and strain‐level analyses revealed host and microbial features linked to AD.
