Pyrrolic‐Nitrogen‐Enriched Aerogels With Magnetic Responsiveness Enable Cooperative Hydrogen‐Bond Regulation for High‐Performance Solar Interfacial Evaporation

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
A pyrrolic‐nitrogen‐enriched ferromagnetic aerogel enables sophisticated cooperative regulation of hydrogen bonding, whereby this dual‐regulatory mechanism effectively reduces vaporization enthalpy while simultaneously enhancing molecular dynamics. The system demonstrates exceptional self‐cleaning capability and exhibits superior performance in the ...

Retroviral Infections Affect Survival and Clutch Size of Female Wild Turkeys

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We investigated the effects of two oncogenic retroviruses, lymphoproliferative disease virus (LPDV) and reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV), on survival and reproduction of wild turkeys in Maine. REV infection reduced female annual survival by nearly half, while LPDV‐infected hens laid fewer eggs, though other reproductive metrics were unaffected.

Rapid Detection of Avian Eimeria Species Using Denaturing Gradient Gel Electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) assay was developed to rapidly discriminate species of avian Eimeria. Amplification by PCR of the small subunit ribosomal RNA gene (approximately 1,600 nucleotides) with Eimeria genus-specific primers ...

Heat‐Induced Toxicants: Sensory Appeal Distracts Consumers' Attention From Potential Toxicological Risks of Thermally Processed Foods

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
The central paradox of thermal processing of foods. (A) The application of heat (e.g., frying, baking, grilling) to food initiates complex chemical reactions, most notably the Maillard reaction and thermal degradation of protein, lipids, and carbohydrate. (B) These reactions create a desirable sensory experience characterized by enticing aromas, golden‐

Assessment of Food Safety Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Among Fresh Market Vendors and Consumers in Dhaka City, Bangladesh: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Food safety is a major public health concern in Bangladesh, particularly in urban areas where fresh markets are the primary source of food. The objective of the study was to examine food safety Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) among fresh market vendors and consumers in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Methods Cross‐sectional data
