Resorption Pattern and Bone Regeneration Using a Synthetic Bone Substitute Block With or Without rhBMP‐2 and Bisphosphonates: An in Vivo Experiment

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate whether recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein‐2 (rhBMP‐2) or bisphosphonate added to synthetic block bone substitute influences new bone formation and grafting material degradation patterns. In a rabbit calvarial model, four critical‐size bone defects were created and treated with a saline‐soaked ...

Molecular Docking and Experimental Evaluation of Trolox and Neocuproine in Targeting Neuroinflammation in Neuropathic Pain Model

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Docking analyses were performed for Neocuproine/Trolox. In comparison to the sham group, IL‑1β and TNF‐α levels in spinal cord and cortex tissues were higher, while IL‑10 and TGF‐β levels were lower. Neocuproine/Trolox treatments reduced proinflammatory cytokine levels and elevated anti‐inflammatory cytokine levels in CCI rats on day 14.

Road mortality alters the body size and age structure of amphibians

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 6, June 2026.
Road mortality affects a wide range of animal species, including amphibians. Worldwide, many amphibian species, including the Asiatic toad Bufo gargarizans, are impacted by road mortality, but the ecological consequences remain poorly understood. This study aimed to evaluate how road mortality influences population traits by comparing body sizes and ...

The Mechanism of NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation and Its Roles in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Volume 12, Issue 3, Page 362-373, June 2026.
ABSTRACT NLRP3 (NLR family pyrin domain containing 3) is one of the crucial receptors in pathogen recognition receptor (PRR) families which can recognize the pathogen‐associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and the damage‐associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), thus triggering innate immune response. After NLRP3 activation, it recruits the adaptor protein

Transrectal vs transperineal prostate biopsy: a systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 137, Issue 6, Page 958-967, June 2026.
Objective To compare transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) and local anaesthetic transperineal (LATP) biopsy. Methods A systematic review of randomised control trials and prospective studies meeting eligibility criteria was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses guidelines. Results A total of 12
