POVM optimization of classical correlations

open access: yes, 2004
We study the problem of optimization over positive valued-operator measure to extract classical correlation in a bipartite quantum system. The proposed method is applied to binary states only. Moreover, to illustrate this method, an explicit example is studied in details.

Minimax quantum state discrimination

open access: yes, 2005
We derive the optimal measurement for quantum state discrimination without a priori probabilities, i.e. in a minimax strategy instead of the usually considered Bayesian one.

Implementation of group-covariant POVMs by orthogonal measurements

open access: yes, 2004
We consider group-covariant positive operator valued measures (POVMs) on a finite dimensional quantum system. Following Neumark's theorem a POVM can be implemented by an orthogonal measurement on a larger system.

Naimark‐Type Results Using Frames

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
In this article, a modified version of frame called frame associated with a sequence of scalars (FASS) is defined. This modified version of frame is used to study quantum measurements. Also, using FASS, some Naimark‐type results are obtained. Finally, a formula to give the average probability of an incorrect measurement using FASS is obtained.

Probabilistic quantum multimeters

open access: yes, 2003
We propose quantum devices that can realize probabilistically different projective measurements on a qubit. The desired measurement basis is selected by the quantum state of a program register. First we analyze the phase-covariant multimeters for a large

The overlap phases of SIC-POVMs

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2020
Abstract A symmetric informationally complete positive-operator-valued measure (SIC-POVM) is a special type of generalized quantum measurements that possesses a high degree of symmetry. It plays an important role in quantum tomography, quantum cryptography and foundations of quantum mechanics.

The Poincaré Half-Plane for Informationally-Complete POVMs [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
It has been shown in previous papers that classes of (minimal asymmetric) informationally-complete positive operator valued measures (IC-POVMs) in dimension d can be built using the multiparticle Pauli group acting on appropriate fiducial states. The latter states may also be derived starting from the Poincaré upper half-plane model H . To do this,
