Fibonacci-Lucas SIC-POVMs [PDF]
We present a conjectured family of symmetric informationally complete positive operator valued measures which have an additional symmetry group whose size is growing with the dimension. The symmetry group is related to Fibonacci numbers, while the dimension is related to Lucas numbers. The conjecture is supported by exact solutions for dimensions d = 4,

Minimal informationally complete measurements for probability representation of quantum dynamics
In the present work, we suggest an approach for describing dynamics of finite-dimensional quantum systems in terms of pseudostochastic maps acting on probability distributions, which are obtained via minimal informationally complete quantum measurements.

In this paper we examine a generalization of the symmetric informationally complete POVMs. SIC-POVMs are the optimal measurements for full quantum tomography, but if some parameters of the density matrix are known, then the optimal SIC POVM should be orthogonal to a subspace. This gives the concept of the conditional SIC-POVM.

Entanglement detection via general SIC-POVMs [PDF]
We study separability problem using general symmetric informationally complete measurements and propose separability criteria in $\mathbb{C}^{d_{1}}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d_{2}}$ and $\mathbb{C}^{d_{1}}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d_{2}}\cdots\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d_{n}}$.

Quantum Calibration of Photon-Number-Resolving Detectors Based on Multi-Pixel Photon Counters
In this paper, we reconstructed the positive operator-valued measure (POVM) of a photon-number-resolving detector (PNRD) based on a multi-pixel photon counter (MPPC) by means of quantum detector tomography (QDT) at 791 nm and 523 nm, respectively.

Self-consistent quantum measurement tomography based on semidefinite programming
We propose an estimation method for quantum measurement tomography (QMT) based on semidefinite programming (SDP) and discuss how it may be employed to detect experimental imperfections, such as shot noise and/or faulty preparation of the input states on ...

Time Observables in a Timeless Universe [PDF]
Time in quantum mechanics is peculiar: it is an observable that cannot be associated to an Hermitian operator. As a consequence it is impossible to explain dynamics in an isolated system without invoking an external classical clock, a fact that becomes ...

Law of Total Probability in Quantum Theory and Its Application in Wigner’s Friend Scenario
It is well-known that the law of total probability does not generally hold in quantum theory. However, recent arguments on some of the fundamental assumptions in quantum theory based on the extended Wigner’s friend scenario show a need to clarify how the

POVMs and Naimark's Theorem Without Sums
We provide a definition of POVM in terms of abstract tensor structure only. It is justified in two distinct manners. i. At this abstract level we are still able to prove Naimark's theorem, hence establishing a bijective correspondence between abstract POVMs and abstract projective measurements on an extended system, and this proof is moreover purely ...
