Critical Influences of Particle Size and Adhesion on the Powder Layer Uniformity in Metal Additive Manufacturing [PDF]
The quality of powder layers, specifically their packing density and surface uniformity, is a critical factor influencing the quality of components produced by powder bed metal additive manufacturing (AM) processes, including selective laser melting, electron beam melting and binder jetting.

Fracturing-induced fluidization of vibrated fine-powder column [PDF]
We experimentally investigate the effect of vertical vibrations on the brittle behavior of fine cohesive powders consisting of glass beads of 5 microns in diameter. This is an attempt to understand the sole role of vibrations in fluidizing Geldart's group C powders, which is known for posing difficulty while fluidization.

Recent progress in CFD modeling of powder flow charging during pneumatic conveying [PDF]
Thus far, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations fail to predict the electrostatic charging of particle-gas flows reliably. The lack of a predictive tool leads to powder operations prone to deposits and discharges, making chemical plants unsustainable and prime candidates for explosions. This paper reviews the rapid progress of numerical models

AISI 304L stainless steel powder is mixed with silicon nitride (Si3N4) powder and processed by PBF‐LB/M, allowing partial retention of Si3N4. The numerical approach effectively predicts the Si3N4 powder homogeneity and N content distribution on the powder bed. Recent studies have focused on the alloying of nitrogen (N) in high‐alloy stainless steels by

Effect of Resonant Acoustic Powder Mixing on Delay Time of W-KClO4-BaCrO4 Mixtures [PDF]
This study investigates the impact of resonant acoustic powder mixing on the delay time of the W-KClO4-BaCrO4 (WKB) mixture and its potential implications for powder and material synthesis. Through thermal analysis, an inverse linear relationship was found between thermal conductivity and delay time, allowing us to use thermal conductivity as a ...

Co-grinding significance for calcium carbonate–calcium phosphate mixed cement. Part I: effect of particle size and mixing on solid phase reactivity [PDF]
In part I of this study we aim to evaluate and control the characteristics of the powders constituting the solid phase of a vaterite CaCO3–dicalcium phosphate dihydrate cement using a co-grinding process and to determine their impact on cement setting ...

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Ac conductivity and dielectric properties of CuFe1−xCrxO2 : Mg delafossite [PDF]
The electrical and dielectric properties of CuFe(1−x)Cr(x)O(2) (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) powders, doped with 3% of Mg and prepared by solid-state reaction, were studied by broadband dielectric spectroscopy in the temperature range from −100 to 150 °C.
