Reconfigurable Hardware for Power-over-Fiber Applications
2010 International Conference on Field Programmable Logic and Applications, 2010In this paper we present an optically powered and motorized video camera system. Energy for the camera sensor is supplied by a glass fiber carrying 800 mW of optical power, which the sensor converts back to 320 mW of electrical power. The specific advantage of this arrangement is galvanic isolation and a very high robustness with respect to ...

Power over Fiber for Internet of Things Application
2020 IEEE 8th International Conference on Photonics (ICP), 2020Copper-based cables have limitation of distributing power safely and efficiently for Internet of Things (IoTs) application as well as during emergency conditions. This research paper aims to demonstrate the power over fiber (PoF) distribution system network in the short-haul distance, as an alternative to copper-based cable.

Power over fiber development for HEP detectors
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated EquipmentPower-over-Fiber (PoF) technology has been used extensively in settings where high voltages require isolation from ground and electromagnetic isolation is critical. In cryogenic environments, PoF offers a reliable power transmission technology, leveraging optical fibers to transfer power with minimal system degradation.

Stimulated Raman Scattering and Power-over-Fiber Property of Multi-core Fiber
Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2022, 2022We show that 4-core multi-core fiber provides 2.6 times higher stimulated Raman scattering threshold than single-core fiber, and potentially enables over 5-km long signal transmission with self-power feeding of more than 600 mW.

An energy management scheme based power-over-fiber system
Optoelectronics Letters, 2019Power-over-fiber technology provides several advantages for harsh industrial application and can potentially be widely used in electric power system. In this paper, a reliable power-over-fiber system is presented, which is able to adjust the optical power automatically corresponding to the variance of the output load.
