Technoeconomic evaluation of flared natural gas reduction and energy recovery using gas-to-wire scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Most mature oil reservoirs or fields tend to perform below expectations, owing to high level of associated gas production. This creates a sub-optimal performance of the oil production surface facilities; increasing oil production specific operating ...

The regulatory approach to power-to-gas facilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
“Clean hydrogen”, one of the main pillars of the EU decarbonization strategy, will be mostly produced by power-to-gas facilities. The regulatory and ownership rules applicable to power-to-gas facilities are to be defined.

Dementia Incidence in Individuals With Parkinson's Disease in the Framingham Heart Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Limited information exists on incident dementia in individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) in US community‐based samples. We examined cognitive statuses and PD diagnoses of 183 individuals in the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) to establish incident dementia, mortality rates, associations with sex, age at PD onset, and education level.

Techno-Economic Evaluation of Associated Gas Usage for Gas Turbine Power Generation in the Presence of Degradation & Resource Decline [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This research examined the technical and economic feasibility of harnessing flare gas emissions from oil fields. The outcome would provide the basis for a substantial re-utilization of this waste energy due to the current practice of flaring and use it ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.
