The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Parametric Extension of the Most Preferred OWA Operator and Its Application in Search Engine's Rank

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
Most preferred ordered weighted average (MP-OWA) operator is a new kind of neat (dynamic weight) OWA operator in the aggregation operator families. It considers the preferences of all alternatives across the criteria and provides unique aggregation ...

A Novel Multi-Criteria Group Decision-Making Approach Based on Bonferroni and Heronian Mean Operators under Hesitant 2-Tuple Linguistic Environment

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Ambiguous and uncertain facts can be handled using a hesitant 2-tuple linguistic set (H2TLS), an important expansion of the 2-tuple linguistic set. The vagueness and uncertainty of data can be grabbed by using aggregation operators.

On Superstring Disk Amplitudes in a Rolling Tachyon Background

open access: yes, 2005
We study the tree level scattering or emission of n closed superstrings from a decaying non-BPS brane in Type II superstring theory. We attempt to calculate generic n-point superstring disk amplitudes in the rolling tachyon background. We show that these

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Quantum Energy Expectation in Periodic Time-Dependent hamiltonians via Green Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Let $U_F$ be the Floquet operator of a time periodic hamiltonian $H(t)$. For each positive and discrete observable $A$ (which we call a {\em probe energy}), we derive a formula for the Laplace time average of its expectation value up to time $T$ in ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Interference Visibility as a Witness of Entanglement and Quantum Correlation

open access: yes, 2014
In quantum information and communication one looks for the non-classical features like interference and quantum correlations to harness the true power of composite systems.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

First-Order Integer-Valued Moving Average Process with Power Series Innovations

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Theory and Applications (JSTA), 2020
In this paper, we introduce a first-order nonnegative integer-valued moving average process with power series innovations based on a Poisson thinning operator (PINMAPS(1)) for modeling overdispersed, equidispersed and underdispersed count time series ...
