Synergistic modulation of oxygen vacancies and confinement effects in CeO2 for high-selectivity synthesis of azoxyarenes

open access: yesNano Research
The selective reduction of nitrobenzene is considered the primary route for synthesizing azoxybenzene, yet this process often suffers from over-reduction, resulting in low selectivity toward the target product.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Stereometric Molecular Engineering for Ultra‐Stable Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Stereochemical configuration of molecular additives greatly influences interfacial adsorption at the Zn surface. The optimal tilted dual‐anchored adsorption geometry of myo‐inositol constructs a water‐deficient interface and regulates the solvation structure.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Vanadium-Based MXenes: Types, Synthesis, and Recent Advances in Supercapacitor Applications

open access: yesNanomaterials
Since the discovery of two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes), MXenes have attracted widespread research in the academic community due to their advantages, such as adjustable interlayer spacing, excellent hydrophilicity ...

Blue Upconversion Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes Achieving 1000 cd m−2 With an Operating Voltage of 2.7 V by Suppressing Interfacial Exciton Quenching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A triplet‐blocking layer controls triplet exciton dynamics in blue upconversion OLEDs. The layer keeps charge transfer (CT)‐generated triplet excitons inside the triplet‐triplet annihilation (TTA) host, suppresses anode‐side interfacial quenching, and increases the steady‐state triplet population.

Effects of LLZO Microstructure Porosity, LLZO/Li‐Metal Interfacial Polarization Resistance, and Applied Areal Current Density on Li‐Metal Dendrite Formation in LLZO Bilayer Symmetric Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The effects of solid‐state electrolyte architecture and electrolyte/electrode interfacial polarization resistance on Critical Current Density and the risks for “interfacial” and “internal” Li‐metal dendrite formation were investigated in simulations of FIB‐reconstructed porous‐dense Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) “bilayers”, providing insight for full cells ...
