Wireless power beam device using microwave power transfer
2014 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference, 2014The authors proposed a novel WPT system using ceramic dielectric resonators. Unloaded Q of ceramic resonator is several tens of thousands depending on the material. Thus, we can expect much longer transmission distance by using ceramic resonator. It was confirmed that the power transfer of this system was conducted by a combination both of coupling in ...

High-power beam control: results-to-date and relevance to power beaming
SPIE Proceedings, 1997Over the past fifteen years, the mid-infrared advanced chemical laser (MIRACL) and SeaLite beam director (SLBD) have been completed, moved to the High Energy Laser System Test Facility (HELSTF) at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, and integrated into the largest and most powerful high energy laser system in the U.S.

Proceedings of the IRE, 1938
The general characteristics of the ideal output tube for broadcast receivers are discussed briefly with respect to specific electrical and acoustical requirements. Considerations of practical power-tube design indicate that the tube most nearly approaching the ideal characteristics is one having an accelerating grid (screen) and a control grid which ...

High-power annular beam klystrons
ICOPS 2000. IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 27th IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (Cat. No.00CH37087), 2002Summary form only given. Annular beam klystrons are well suited to high power operation. Significantly higher beam current can be transported than in conventional pencil beam klystrons (at the same beam voltage). Furthermore, we have designed cavity configurations that provide strong beam modulation and efficient energy extraction from the bunched ...

Gigawatt power electron beam generator
Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences Section C: Engineering Sciences, 1981In this paper, the design and constructional details of a short-pulse electron beam generator are presented highlighting some of the novel features of its operation. The diagnostic results of the electron beam, both in the diode and in the drift region, are described. A 60-ns duration 200 keV, 30 kA electron beam has been obtained.

In various modern scientific and industrial laser applications, beam-shaping optics manipulates the laser spot size and its intensity distribution. However the designed laser spot frequently deviates from the design goal due to real life imperfections and effects, such as: input laser distortions, optical distortion, heating, overall instabilities, and

High-power laser-beam characteristics
SPIE Proceedings, 2004Applications of high-power lasers are very important, especially for cutting and welding. As it is known, laser-beam characteristics have not constant value in time. So we may have suitable testing methods which allow us to determine the principal beam characteristics.

Rotational-beam power theorems
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1965General power theorems for rotational electron beams and some moving plasmas are derived by using three sets of variables: Clebsch variables, Lin's variables, and polarization variables. In each case, the most general power theorem, with unspecified linear operators, is given and for the polarization-variable case this is specialized to some cases of ...

Composite ceramics for power beaming
2017 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC), 2017In the search for candidate materials for a robust mm-wave heat-exchanger, composite materials composed of a thermally conductive “host” material and a small inclusion of a very lossy material are particularly promising. However, there is little data available on the properties of materials in the W-band, a frequency range which is particularly useful ...

Polyconductor beam power sensor
International Journal of Electronics, 1991Abstract The design is presented of a sensor circuit for the thermal detection and power measurement of incident microwave and laser beams due to accidental or targeted exposure. In this sensor, a polyconductor device acts as a microwave or optical beam absorber.
