Fermi Large Area Telescope Observations of Misaligned AGN [PDF]
Analysis is presented on 15 months of data taken with the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope for 11 non-blazar AGNs, including 7 FRI radio galaxies and 4 FRII radio sources consisting of 2 FRII radio galaxies and 2 steep ...

55% Efficient High-Power Multijunction Photovoltaic Laser Power Converters for 1070 nm
High-efficiency multijunction laser power converters are demonstrated for the first time at high power for optical inputs around 1070 nm. The InP-based photovoltaic power-converting III–V heterostructures are designed with eight lattice-matched InGaAsP ...

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

The black hole fundamental plane from a uniform sample of radio and X-ray emitting broad line AGNs
We derived the black hole fundamental plane relationship among the 1.4GHz radio luminosity (L_r), 0.1-2.4keV X-ray luminosity (L_X), and black hole mass (M) from a uniform broad line SDSS AGN sample including both radio loud and radio quiet X-ray ...

Blandford-Znajek process as a gamma ray burst central engine [PDF]
We investigate the possibility that gamma-ray bursts are powered by a central engine consisting of a black hole with an external magnetic field supported by a surrounding disk or torus.

Rates and Beaming Angles of Gamma-Ray Bursts Associated with Compact Binary Coalescences
Some, if not all, binary neutron star (BNS) coalescences, and a fraction of neutron star–black hole (NSBH) mergers, are thought to produce sufficient mass ejection to power gamma-ray bursts (GRBs).

Beaming Binaries - a New Observational Category of Photometric Binary Stars
The new photometric space-borne survey missions CoRoT and Kepler will be able to detect minute flux variations in binary stars due to relativistic beaming caused by the line-of-sight motion of their components.
