Power Conditioning Unit for Photovoltaic Power Systems
1981This paper describes a Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) for solar photovoltaic energy collection system. The PCU rated 50/62,5 kVA, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase, 4-wire has the capability to operate in a stand-alone mode or paralleled with a commercial 3-phase utility power line. The quality of power is compatible with that of the electric utilities.

High-power, light-weight power conditioning
IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine, 1991After a review of light-weight transformer efforts in the US, a weight analysis is carried out. From basic transformer relations and geometrical considerations it is shown how transformer specific power should scale with power and frequency. The result compares well with design results for frequency scaling but not for power scaling.
