Analysis of power consumption in memory hierarchies
Proceedings of the 1997 international symposium on Low power electronics and design - ISLPED '97, 1997In this paper, we note and analyze a key trade-off: as the complexity of caches increases (higher set-associativity, larger block size, and larger overall size), the power consumed by a cache access increases. However, because the hit rate also increases, the number of main memory accesses decreases and thus the power consumed by a memory access ...

A Power-Consumption Analysis for 802.11DCF
2006 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2006To achieve the power-consumption performance of 802.11 DCF, it uses a box-ball model to resolve the packet collisions probability. In consideration of limited retransmissions for each packet, it approximates the state transform of active nodes as a finite-state one-dimension Markovian process.

Power consumption analysis in static CMOS gates
2013 26th Symposium on Integrated Circuits and Systems Design (SBCCI), 2013This paper addresses the power consumption in CMOS logic gates through a study that considers the transistor network arrangement and the advance of the technology node. The relationship between charge/discharge and short-circuit dynamic power components are investigated through electrical simulations (SPICE).

Power consumption analysis for mesh based FPGA
2014 9th IEEE International Conference on Design & Technology of Integrated Systems in Nanoscale Era (DTIS), 2014This paper presents the power consumption analysis of two different routing architectures for mesh based FPGAs. The first architecture uses bidirectional Switch Box (SB) implemented using back-to-back tri-state drivers. The second one uses bidirectional SB implemented using tri-states and multiplexers.

Power Consumption Predictive Analysis
Initially the project is started by recording power consumption from a laptop at different performance levels using a software known as “HWInfo.” Next cleaned this data by filtering the potential variables needed for the analysis and obtained average values for unique utility percentages.Aditi Singh +4 more

Practical power consumption analysis with current smartphones
2016 29th IEEE International System-on-Chip Conference (SOCC), 2016In this paper, we analyzed the power consumption of all Samsung Galaxy smartphones to explore modern smartphones' power consumption characters. With dedicated measurement and analysis, we found that, some previously emphasized power hungry consumers, like Wi-Fi and multimedia codec, consume very trivial power in the modern smartphones; and video ...

SRAM Utilization and Power Consumption Analysis for Low Power Applications
2020 International Conference on Recent Trends on Electronics, Information, Communication & Technology (RTEICT), 2020In digital systems memories are very essential elements. Memories usually consume higher percentage of power in the entire designed system. As portable and handheld devices that operate on batteries, limited consumption of power is required by the design modules.

Power consumption analysis using multi-view modeling
2013 23rd International Workshop on Power and Timing Modeling, Optimization and Simulation (PATMOS), 2013Non-functional properties take an important place in real-time systems. Power consumption, time performance and temperature are non-functional properties that are individually analyzed using specialized tools. Nevertheless, non-functional properties are interrelated, and changes on one property may affect the other ones, but also may impact the system ...
