Soft dropping power control-a power control backoff strategy
1997 IEEE International Conference on Personal Wireless Communications (Cat. No.97TH8338), 2002For wireless communications systems, this work considers a power control algorithm in which a user's link quality objective, as measured by the signal to interference ratio (SIR), varies with its transmitter power. In particular, as increased interference or reduced uplink gain leads a mobile to raise its transmitter power, that mobile lowers its SIR ...

Constructing Powerful Control Charts
Journal of Ambulatory Care Management, 2002Control charts are intended to tell a story about whether or not a process is stable, improving, or deteriorating. Effective storytelling requires more than correctly following the rules for choosing the best control chart and applying the tests for a special cause. The story will be told more effectively when control charts include all the information

VTC '98. 48th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference. Pathway to Global Wireless Revolution (Cat. No.98CH36151), 2002
In this paper, we propose a fast forward power control in which the power control bits in the forward link used for the reverse link power control are utilized to measure the estimate of forward power. In a DS-CDMA system, there are generally power control bits transmitted in the forward link for fast reverse power control and they are transmitted ...

Flow Control Power is Nondecentralizable
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1981Flow control in store-and-forward computer networks is appropriate for decentralized execution. A formal description of a class of "decentralized flow control algorithms" is given. The feasibility of maximizing power with such algorithms is investigated.
