Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Innovative Hard Isolation Techniques in GPON for Modern Power Distribution Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access
The transition of power distribution networks to digital and intelligent systems necessitates the integration of advanced communication technologies. Traditional communication methods, which often require separate networks for different services, lead to

Optimal Power Control for Multiuser CDMA Channels

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, we define the power region as the set of power allocations for K users such that everybody meets a minimum signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). The SIR is modeled in a multiuser CDMA system with fixed linear receiver and signature sequences.

Impact of a senior research thesis on students' perceptions of scientific inquiry in distinct student populations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study addressed how a senior research thesis is perceived by undergraduate students. It assessed students' perception of research skills, epistemological beliefs, and career goals in Biochemistry (science) and BDC (science‐business) students. Completing a thesis improved confidence in research skills, resilience, scientific identity, closed gender‐

Reinforcement Learning-Enhanced Adaptive Scheduling of Battery Energy Storage Systems in Energy Markets

open access: yesEnergies
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESSs) play a vital role in modern power grids by optimally dispatching energy according to the price signal. This paper proposes a reinforcement learning-based model that optimizes BESS scheduling with the proposed Q ...

The photoswitchable cannabinoid azo‐HU308 enables optical control of Ca2+ dynamics in INS‐1 β‐cells via off‐target effects on TRPC channels

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Light activation of the photoswitchable cannabinoid ligand azo‐HU308 triggers Ca2+ influx in pancreatic β‐cells through TRPC channels, independent of CB2 cannabinoid receptors. This reveals a non‐GPCR pathway for cannabinoid modulation of β‐cell Ca2+ dynamics and establishes azo‐HU308 as an optical tool to study cannabinoid signaling through TRP ...
