A method for generating secondary-referenced control power (power convertors)

[Proceedings] APEC '92 Seventh Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2003
A method is described that uses a startup oscillator and the principal power components to generate a secondary-referenced voltage for the control circuit of an isolated power converter. The method eliminates the need for a separate housekeeping power supply in these converters.

Modified switched power convertor with zero ripple

A modified power conversion scheme suitable for switched mode converters which addresses the problem of output ripple without incurring an appreciable loss of efficiency is presented. An analog controlled current source is used to inject a current into the load which is equal and opposite to the ripple current due to the switching circuit.

New current regulation principle [for power convertors]

In this paper, two novel methods for current regulation are presented. They both are based on the synchronized on-off principle, where an additional algorithm for null voltage vector is implemented, depending on the predicted current error at the end of the sampling interval. Generalised convertor models for iterative harmonic analysis in power systems

There is an increasing interest in steady-state analysis of electric power systems with convertors. Harmonic analysis can be performed in the frequency domain with iterative methods that are comprehensive and efficient but may present convergence problems; this drawback can be overcome by employing appropriate models of convertors.
