Multimodal Mechanical Testing of Additively Manufactured Ti6Al4V Lattice Structures: Compression, Bending, and Fatigue

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Improved dynamic voltage restorer with reduced capacity of power inverter and energy storage for voltage sag mitigation

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
As one of the most representative series active compensators, dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) can solve voltage‐related power quality uses effectively. The in‐phase voltage control and energy‐optimised control are the two typical control strategies of DVR.

Analysis, design and performance characterisation of transistor clamped dual active bridge DC–DC converter in wide voltage range

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
In order to control dual active bridge conventionally, control scheme such as single phase shift is used which reduces the system efficiency particularly when voltage conversion ratio differs from unity.

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Dynamic compensation based feedforward control against output/input disturbance for LCL‐DAB DC–DC converter operated under no backflow power

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2021
LCL‐type resonant dual‐active‐bridge (LCL‐DAB) DC–DC converters have more significant advantages in eliminating backflow power and achieving higher voltage gain compared with traditional dual active bridge (DAB) DC–DC converters. Therefore, LCL‐DAB DC–DC

Phase Estimation for Grid Synchronization of DG System Using Cordic Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The proper operation of grid connected inverter system is determined by grid voltage conditions such as phase, amplitude and frequency. In such applications, an accurate and fast detection of the phase angle, amplitude and frequency of the grid voltage ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Modified natural frame control of single‐phase cascaded H‐bridge multilevel converter under distorted grid voltage

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
Cascaded H‐bridge multilevel converter is widely applied in flexible AC transmission and grid connection of renewable energy, but its current quality decreases as the grid voltage distortion continues to deteriorate.
