Emulating SCME power delay profile in reverberation chamber

2017 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP), 2017
An experimental set-up and procedure for emulating realistic fading channels in a reverberation chamber is described in this contribution. Of particular interest is the generation of power delay profiles of urban-macro and -micro channels defined in the 3GPP Spatial-Channel-Model-Extended (SCME).

Power delay profile based indoor fingerprinting localization system

2016 18th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technology (ICACT), 2016
Received signal strength (RSS) based fingerprinting localization technique has been researched widely for the indoor location based services (LBSs) in recent years. However, the accuracy performance suffers from the time-varying characteristic of RSS due to the multi-path and shadow effect.

Power Delay Profile Filtering Technique Using Artificial Neural Networks

2020 IEEE Latin-American Conference on Communications (LATINCOM), 2020
This paper presents an alternative technique for the filtering of the power delay profile in mobile radio channel using artificial neural networks for the identification and extraction of impulsive noise. The power delay profiles obtained from field measurements in the 700 MHz band, were subjected to two filtering techniques: the CFAR (Constant False ...

Power Delay Profile Matching for Vehicle Target Recognition

2009 IEEE 70th Vehicular Technology Conference Fall, 2009
Radar echo contains unwanted echoes called as clutter, which make it difficult to detect vehicle or obstacle. Especially short-range/wide-angle vehicle radar at 24GHz suffers from heavy clutter unlike long-range radar at 77GHz. It is therefore expect to improve the detection performance by suppressing the clutter using a pulse integration and CFAR ...

Comparing Three Models for UWB Indoor Power Delay Profile

2006 40th Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2006
We compare three approaches for modeling the ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor channel delay profile, including the one adopted by the IEEE 802.15.3a Task Group. We do this using a large database we collected, spanning numerous indoor environments. We test the models against this database and against each other by computing certain statistical `attributes ...

Reverberation tail in power delay profiles: Effects and modeling

2013 MTS/IEEE OCEANS - Bergen, 2013
Long reverberation tails are not uncommon in underwater acoustic channel impulse responses. We show a few examples of underwater channels which all exhibit this feature, and consider their properties in some more detail. The effect of insufficient modeling of the reverberant tail is then demonstrated. Approaches for model based simulation are discussed

Power delay profiles measured in mountainous terrain (radiowave propagation)

38th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003
Wideband mobile radio channel characteristics were measured in mountainous terrain in Switzerland. Based on more than 76000 impulse responses, measured with two different experimental set-ups, statistical results were evaluated for mean excess delay, delay spread, delay interval, and correlation distance. This data was used to define parameter settings

Power delay profile in a cluttered environment

2004 IEEE International Conference on Communications (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37577), 2004
A stochastic-ray model of wave propagation based on the theory of random walks that accounts for only two parameters: the amount of clutter and the amount of absorption in the environment is considered. This model applies to indoor and outdoor environments, characterized by a large number of (small) scattering objects.

Power delay profile filtering techniques for indoor radio channel characterization

2011 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC 2011), 2011
This paper presents a comparison of two power delay profile filtering techniques, the Relevance Vector Machine — RVM — and the Constant False Alarm Rate — CFAR. Both techniques are applied to power delay profiles (PDPs) measured in a indoor environment at 1.95 GHz on a 160 MHz channel bandwidth and the matched filter technique is used for the sounding.
