A Novel Channel Estimation Method Based on Power-Delay Profile
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Considering the physical layer specification of the IEEE802.11 protocol as background, a novel LSE (least square estimation) algorithm based on power-delay profile of wireless channel is proposed. In multi-path time-variant channel, receiver carries out a primary MMSE estimation using training symbols and pilots of OFDM symbol firstly. Then the channel

Improved ultra wideband power delay profile using wavelet-based denoising
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2011In this paper, the application of wavelet denoising to the estimated Power Delay Profile (PDP) from measured UWB indoor channel responses was investigated. Unlike the conventional thresholding scheme, which cut-off the values below a threshold to suppress artifacts of the measurement system, the wavelet-based denoising scheme is smoother.

Cooperative power delay profile estimation for vehicle-to-infrastructure communications
2016 25th Wireless and Optical Communication Conference (WOCC), 2016Power adaptation is crucial to maximize the system capacity for orthogonal frequency multiple access (OFDM) systems, where power delay profile (PDP) should provide instantaneous signal power distribution. This paper proposes a cooperative PDP estimation method to mitigate the impact of imperfect CSI in vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication ...

Fine Timing Synchronization Using Power Delay Profile for OFDM Systems
2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005Timing synchronization is more critical in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems than in single carrier systems. In this paper, a timing estimation scheme is derived from maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) using power delay profile.

An analytical calculation of power delay profile and delay spread with experimental verification
IEEE Communications Letters, 2003Realistic system and link level simulations require specific information about the radio channel. A key role is played by the power delay profile which is widely agreed to be a negative exponential characterized by the delay spread. Since this finding is based on empirical evidence only, the delay spread must be derived from measured data.

Power delay profile modeling for Multilateration system
2015Abstract. Nowadays, multilateration systems are widely used for locating the aircrafts. One of the challenges in implementation of the system is placing receivers in appropriate locations which are dependent to several factors such as delay spread. By modeling power delay profile, delay spread can be obtained. In this article, two airports of Iran were

A Geometry-Based Channel Model to Simulate an Averaged-Power-Delay Profile
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2017Wireless communications or navigation is heavily influenced by electromagnetic wave propagation. The power-delay profile (PDP) characterizes the propagation channel by simple statistics. In this communication, we propose a channel model to simulate a given wideband averaged PDP obtained by measurements or theoretical considerations, enabling to test ...

Investigation of Power Delay Profiles for 5G Millimeter Wave Railway Communications
2019 5th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE), 2019Recently, high speed railway (HSR) communication is getting popular with advances of millimeter wave (mmWave) technology of future fifth generation (5G) wireless standard. Researchers are taking initiatives to support dense traffic with higher demand of data rate as well as high mobility. However, several challenges for 5G mmWave channel still exist as

Hypoexponential Power—Delay Profile and Performance of Multihop OFDM Relay Links
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2010We study the physical-layer performance of a wideband multihop system in which a chain of amplify-and-forward relays is deployed for routing data from a source to a destination. The novelty of the system model w.r.t. prior work is in assuming frequency-selective multipath channels for all hops.

Branched-bus HF power-delay-profile approach of indoor PLC channels
International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2005., 2005In this paper, the branched-bus topology is evaluated as representative of indoor PLC channels' multipath fading properties. The path amplitude and arrival-time distributions are investigated, as well as ranging of the RMS-delay-spread. Specific analogy between the simplified topology and real indoor power-line network structures is hereupon introduced.
