Diverse protection systems for improving security: a study with AntiVirus engines [PDF]
Diverse “barriers” or “protection systems” are very common in many industries, especially in safety-critical ones where the designers must use “defense in depth” techniques to prevent safety failures.

Protection challenges in future converter dominated power systems [PDF]
Converter interfaces, used to connect renewable energy sources, HVDC links and infeeds to the power system, will bring significant changes to the behaviour of power systems in the future, particularly in Great Britain (GB).

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Common Origin of Power-law Tails in Income Distributions and Relativistic Gases
Power-law tails are ubiquitous in income distributions and in the energy distributions of diluted relativistic gases. We analyze the conceptual link between these two cases.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

A cyber-resilient multi-agent protection scheme for power distribution systems
Modern distribution networks face significant protection challenges, as conventional relays and existing multi-agent system-based relaying schemes struggle with reliable directional discrimination, high-impedance faults, busbar faults, and cyber ...

Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...
