Diagnostic accuracy of Doppler ultrasound technique of the penile arteries in correlation to selective arteriography [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
In 63% of 265 patients with erectile dysfunction a relevant arterial inflow disturbance was found by Doppler ultrasound examination. Correlation between Doppler and arteriography in 58 patients showed an accuracy of 95% in detecting penile arteries and ...

A Novel Approach to Estimate the Transition Temperature via Dynamic Nanoindentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A new dynamic nanoindentation‐based method was developed that uses the stiffness ratio as an indicator of the elastic–plastic deformation contributions at different temperatures. The approach successfully identified transition temperatures in ferritic steel and distinguished them from continuously ductile austenitic steel.

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Diagnosis of Ovarian Metastasis from Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia by 3D Power Doppler Ultrasound and Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2012
Choriocarcinoma is a highly malignant disease of trophoblastic cells, which affects young women in the reproductive years. The main sites of metastasis from choriocarcinoma are lung, vagina, liver, gastrointestinal tract and kidneys, and the involvement ...

Spatially Controlled Embedded Bioprinting of Prevascularized Spheroids‐Containing Biopatch Enables Functional Skin Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A spatially controlled embedded bioprinting strategy enables precise engineering of prevascularized multicellular spheroids within skin‐derived dECM bioinks. Optimized spheroid size, composition, and spacing promote vascular maturation, paracrine signaling, and tissue integration, resulting in enhanced angiogenesis, blood perfusion, and functional skin

Kidney biopsy and power Doppler imaging [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Nephrology, 1999
Practically, all complications of kidney biopsy are connected with hemorrhage. In the last years, the use of color Doppler sonography in monitoring kidney biopsies was being described, later the possibility of using power Doppler (PD) in performing kidney biopsies was presented.

Three‐dimensional power Doppler in ovarian tumors [PDF]

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2007
Whole tumor assessment by 3D-PDU may be inadequatebecause, in large tumors for example, it is virtuallyimpossible to include the whole tumor in just one volumebox.Insuchcases, informationcanbelostandsubsequentanalysis can be subject to bias. Furthermore, in mosttumors vascularization is located in a few areas and notevenly distributed throughout the ...

Computed Tomography‐ and Photoacoustic Imaging‐Active Bioresorbable Electrospun Bismuth Nanoparticle‐Infused Small‐Diameter Vascular Grafts

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A polymeric graft loaded with radiopaque bismuth nanoparticles is expected to undergo gradual polymer resorption and nanoparticle release. This design enables noninvasive, multimodal monitoring of device integrity, patency, and degradation using computed tomography alongside ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging over 12 weeks.

The Difference Between Colour Doppler Velocity Imaging and Power Doppler Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging, 2002
The Doppler effect, which occurs on the reflection of ultrasound from moving blood or tissue, is observed as a shift in frequency of the reflected ultrasound from that of the incident ultrasound. This Doppler shift has been widely used in clinical practice as a means of measuring blood velocity.
