The Thin Gap Chambers database experience in test beam and preparations for ATLAS

open access: yes, 2005
Thin gap chambers (TGCs) are used for the muon trigger system in the forward region of the LHC experiment ATLAS. The TGCs are expected to provide a trigger signal within 25 ns of the bunch spacing.

Design specifications and test of the HMPID's control system in the ALICE experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The HMPID (High Momentum Particle Identification Detector) is one of the ALICE subdetectors planned to take data at LHC, starting in 2006. Since ALICE will be located underground, the HMPID will be remotely controlled by a Detector Control System (DCS ...

RPWM selective voltage harmonic elimination method for single‐phase five‐level MPUC inverter based on cell division

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
The conventional selective harmonic elimination method of random pulse width modulation (RPWM) is only suitable for the two‐level inverter. Furthermore, when the harmonics below 6 kHz are selectively eliminated, it is easy to cause a low average ...

Cryo‐EM of Rationally Designed Photosystem I Nanoassembly on Graphene Validates Orientation‐Driven Enhancement of Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first cryo‐EM visualization and quantification of oriented Photosystem I (PSI) on single‐layer graphene is reported. Domain‐specific covalent anchoring of PSI, with the reducing side of the biophotocatalyst toward graphene, promotes three‐fold higher anodic photocurrent generation compared to a randomly physisorbed counterpart. This approach allows

An interleaved ZVS ultra‐large gain converter for sustainable energy systems applications

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
This paper proposes an interleaved zero‐voltage switching (ZVS) ultra‐large gain converter. By implementing coupled‐inductor (CI) and built‐in transformer (BIT) together with a switched capacitor (SC) voltage multiplier cell (VMC), a higher degree of ...

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.

PWM techniques for an asymmetric multilevel binary inverter: an FPGA‐based implementation

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
This paper deals with the design and implementation of the conventional Level‐Shifted‐PWM (LS‐PWM) and the PWM‐hybrid modulation techniques in a Field‐Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) development card, applicable to binary asymmetric multilevel converters;

Transparent Inorganic–Organic Bilayer Neural Electrode Array and Integration to Miniscope System for In Vivo Calcium Imaging and Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the BioCLEAR system, a highly transparent and conductive neural electrode array composed of silver nanowires (AgNWs) and doped PEDOT:PSS, enabling neural recordings with minimal optical artifacts. When integrated with a GRIN lens, this cost‐effective neural implant allows simultaneous electrophysiological recording and GCaMP6‐based ...

Comparative analysis of switching losses and current ripple of continuous and discontinuous SVPWM strategies for unbalanced two‐phase four‐leg VSI Fed unsymmetrical two‐phase induction motor

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2021
This paper presents a comparative analysis of the continuous space vector pulse width modulation and the discontinuous space vector pulse width modulation in terms of the switching losses and current ripple reduction for the unbalanced two‐phase four‐leg
