A multiprocessor for power electronic circuit simulation

1981 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1981
Power electronic circuit simulation demands substantial improvements in the performance-to-cost of digital processing. Multiprocessors offer one possible method of reducing costs through the application of VLSI technology while increasing performance by exploiting concurrent computation.

GaN Integrated Circuits for Power Electronics

2019 Device Research Conference (DRC), 2019
Due to their excellent material properties, GaN-based devices for power electronics have been the subject of intensive research for >10 years. However, only in the last few years, has the commercial adoption started to reach a critical mass. The power electronics community is now rapidly moving to adopt wide bandgap materials in power systems to ...

Software breadboards for power electronic circuits

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1991
A software breadboard is a means of simulating power electronic circuits at the device-level. The objective is to obtain detailed performance information such as device voltage and current waveforms and power dissipations. The intent is to accurately model the circuit for use in place of measurements to assess performance and even in a design mode to ...

Power electronic circuits and devices

2005
This chapter reviews the main classes of circuits and devices that are currently used, emphasizing the basic operating principles and characteristics. The three-pulse rectifier supplies a resistive load in series with a filter inductor, the inductor being large enough to ensure that the load current is continuous and ripple-free.

Parallel analysis of a power electronic circuit

Proceedings IPEMC 2000. Third International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IEEE Cat. No.00EX435), 2002
This paper proposes two types of fast circuit analysis techniques of a power electronic circuit by using multiple processors in parallel. One is a steady-state analysis technique by the multiple shooting method which is stabler and faster than the usual single-shooting method.

Power-to-Control Crosstalk in Power Electronic Circuits

2025 IEEE 29th Workshop on Signal and Power Integrity (SPI)
This paper deals with a signal integrity issue specific to power electronic circuits: the crosstalk noise between the power and control sections. The case study investigated here involves a test-bench board mounting a power electronic voltage regulator, where parasitic capacitances in the PCB layout cause the crosstalk noise.

PECS-Power Electronics Circuit Simulator

COMPEL 2000. 7th Workshop on Computers in Power Electronics. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8535), 2002
PECS (Power Electronics Circuit Simulator) enables the time-domain simulation of switched networks that may contain nonlinear elements. In the design of PECS focus has been placed not only in obtaining high speed but also in achieving a very high degree of accuracy. A set of optimized computer algorithms that have been incorporated into the software to

Integrated circuits for power electronics applications

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010
Integrated circuits are used more and more in power electronic applications in an attempt to reduce size and increase versatility and reliability. In 2006, the analog power ICs constitute about 38% of the $19B power management market. The power management market is one of the most dynamic sectors of the semiconductor industry, with around 13% yearly ...

Power Conditioning in Electronic Circuits

1989
Principles of energy flux transmission, as described in the previous chapterf are applied to switckmode electronic circuits. An investigation is conducted into the role of “stray” and “parasitic” impedances during power conditioning at high frequencies, as means to gain insight into the optimisation of circuits operating at high power-frequency ratings.
