Physiological responses during exercise to exhaustion at critical power

European Journal of Applied Physiology, 2002
Critical power (CP) is a theoretical construct derived from a series of constant load tests to failure. Many studies have examined the methodological limitations of deriving CP, but few studies have examined the responses to exercise at CP in well-trained individuals.

Turbo-Hydraulic Engine Exhaust Power Recovery System

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Recovery of energy normally lost in engine exhaust is an attractive way to increase overall engine efficiency. A turbo-hydraulic exhaust power recovery system offers high efficiency, high reliability and low overall system cost.

Power Recovery From In-Situ Combustion Exhaust Gases

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1976
A field evaluation of the use of a small gas-combustion turbine generator set to recover power from in-situ combustion exhaust gases was conducted. With suitable modifications to the turbine, exhaust gases can be exchanged for compressed air; and the energy of compression, the sensible heat, and the heat of combustion in exhaust gases can be recovered.

Exhaust Port Shapes for Sound and Power

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1973
<div class="htmlview paragraph">A theoretical analysis is presented that predicts significant reductions in exhaust pulse amplitudes and hence exhaust noise levels by varying the shape of the exhaust port in a spark-ignited 2-cycle engine. Verification and correlation with experimental results are also presented.</div>

Integrated Exhaust System for Simple Cycle Power Plants

ASME 2010 Power Conference, 2010
Simple cycle power plants are frequently utilized as peaking power plants which generate electricity typically during a high demand. To comply with environmental standards simple cycle power plants are equipped with emission control catalysts reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and other pollutants.

Mass Spectrometric Studies of Power Klystron Exhaust Processing

1961
The partial pressures of the residual gases present during vacuum processing and operation of power klystrons were measured using a bakeable Diatron-20 mass analyzer tube. The gases present during bakeout at 500 C were, in decreasing abundance, hydrogen, water, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and methane.

The physics of power exhaust from toroidal magnetoplasmas

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1992
An overview of the physical mechanisms involved in power exhaust from toroidal magnetoplasmas is given with emphasis on the tokamak line. The power load problem resulting from the toroidal trap topology together with the extremely anisotropic energy transport in a magnetized plasma is outlined. The physics of heat transport from the core to the wall by

Why Does Sense of Power Alleviate Emotional Exhaustion?

Journal of Personnel Psychology
Abstract: Emotional exhaustion is known to negatively impact employees’ physical and mental health. Although personal psychological resources have been considered as critical alleviating factors, little is known about the relation between sense of power and emotional exhaustion as well as the underlying mechanisms.

High density operation for reactor-relevant power exhaust

Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2015
Abstract With increasing size of a tokamak device and associated fusion power gain an increasing power flux density towards the divertor needs to be handled. A solution for handling this power flux is crucial for a safe and economic operation. Using purely geometric arguments in an ITER-like divertor this power flux can be reduced by approximately a ...
