Optimal power factor correction
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1988The authors discuss the different parameters affecting the economic feasibility of power factor correction. It is shown that the specific costs of the transmission and compensation elements as well as those of the electrical energy and power losses have a decisive influence on the achievable overall economic saving.

Skynet power factor correction cell
APEC 2000. Fifteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (Cat. No.00CH37058), 2002A novel low-cost power factor correction cell (PFCC), inserting between rectifier/capacitor input and a variety of DC/DC converters of the off-line switching power supplies, is proposed. By adding this cell, the conventional off-line switching power supplies can easily meet with IEC-1000-3-2 Class A or Class D.
