Boost power factor correction circuits

Conference Record Southcon, 1994
In this paper, we present two modified boost converter topologies to be used as power factor correction circuits. Zero-voltage switching and proper transformer-core resetting are achieved utilizing the parasitic capacitance of the switch and the magnetization inductance of the transformer. Steady state analysis for the two circuits is given.

Power factor correction: a survey

2001 IEEE 32nd Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.01CH37230), 2002
New recommendations and future standards have increased the interest in power factor correction circuits. There are multiple solutions to this problem to obtain sinusoidal line current and in addition, a great number of circuits have been proposed with nonsinusoidal line current.

Automatic power factor correction unit

2016 International Conference on Computing, Electronic and Electrical Engineering (ICE Cube), 2016
Power factor losses represent a significant factor of power losses in both industrial and domestic units. Various methods have been devised earlier to tackle this problem. This paper aims to present an indigenous technique and method which could be used for static power factor correction.

A bidirectional AC-DC power converter with power factor correction

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2000
This paper presents new operation and performance of a thyristor-based AC-DC current-controlled boost-type converter that allows bidirectional power handling capability and provides input power factor correction and a near-sinusoidal input current waveform. The new converter can reduce harmonic pollution and disturbance on the supply mains. The feature

Power factor correction on distribution systems

Journal of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1920
POWER factor is a characteristic of electrical energy which is being transmitted by an impressed alternating voltage and resultant alternating current whereby it is possible for the current to rise and fall in magnitude before, with or after, the equivalent rise or fall in the alternating electromotive force.

Power Corrections to TMD Factorization

Probing Nucleons and Nuclei in High Energy Collisions, 2020
In this paper we discuss calculation of power corrections to the transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization which describes production of a particle with small transverse momentum in a hadron-hadron collision. As an example we consider power corrections to the TMD factorization formula for Z-boson production.

Automatic Power Factor Correction

International Scientific Journal of Engineering and Management
With the mining industry moving from traditional manual methods to the advanced mechanised mining, the focus is also shifting to the energy efficiency of the equipment and system being employed. Most of the equipment used in mining like shovel, drill, elevator, continues miner, conveyor, pumps etc. runs on electricity.
