Suitability of the Static Converters For the Power Factor Correction (PFC)

2021 Devices for Integrated Circuit (DevIC), 2021
In this paper, suitability of the static converter topology along with standard structures and applications are proposed to assess the power factor (PF). Various usual issues of static converters are framed out by gross evaluation on the power factor correction (PFC) and improvements.

The Three-Level Sine-Wave Inverter with Power Factor Correction (PFC)

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015
Nowadays, the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is important in reliability for electric device. The UPS need high quality electricity. Therefore, the simulation of the three-level sine-wave inverter with power factor correction (PFC) is proposed in this paper.

Operation of three-phase power factor corrected (PFC) rectifiers

International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics and Electromotion, Joint Conference, 2011
Rectifier circuits make a large number of higher harmonics in the mains and lower the power factor (PF). To reduce this harmful effect, rectifier circuits with electronic control are introduced. This article presents two Power Factor Correction rectifier circuits: 1- and 3-phase circuits. We present here the method of controlling these rectifiers, that

A Digital Power Factor Correction (PFC) Control Strategy Optimized for DSP

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004
A predictive algorithm for digital control power factor correction (PFC) is presented in this paper. Based on this algorithm, all of the duty cycles required to achieve unity power factor in one half line period are calculated in advance by digital signal processors (DSP).

DSP implementation of predictive control strategy for power factor correction (PFC)

Nineteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2004. APEC '04., 2004
A predictive algorithm for digital control PFC is presented in this paper. Based on this algorithm, all of the duty cycles required to achieve unity power factor in one half line period are calculated in advance by the DSP. A boost converter controlled by these precalculated duty cycles can achieve sinusoidal current waveform.

Modeling and simulation of off-line boost power factor correction (PFC) circuits

2010 42nd Southeastern Symposium on System Theory (SSST 2010), 2010
Electric power is delivered most efficiently from utilities to end users when the load draws current at unity power factor. Traditional ac-to-dc power supplies that use a rectifier/filter topology, however, draw currents that are highly non-sinusoidal and rich in harmonics and thus display a low power factor.

A Novel Three-Phase Three-Level Power Factor Correction (PFC) Converter Using Two Single-Phase PFC Modules

2007 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2007
In recent years, the research on power factor correction (PFC) circuits for high-power applications has increased for the rigorous harmonic limits. Three-level boost type PFC is a very attractive solution for high power density and high efficiency three-phase preregulator.

Power factor correction by PFC boost topology using average current control method

2013 IEEE Global High Tech Congress on Electronics, 2013
Different power converters like ac-dc or dc-dc are widely used for their flexible output voltage and high conversion efficiency. Mostly these converters are used in various electronic devices and they are designed to regulate the output voltage even in the variation of load current and input voltage. Presently, there is increasing demands of high power

Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) Circuit With Resistor-Free Zero-Current Detection

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2011
An active power-factor correction (PFC) circuit is presented that employs a newly proposed resistor-free zero-current detection (ZCD). While the conventional ZCD requires either a sensing resistor or auxiliary transformer, the proposed ZCD requires only one OFF-chip capacitor.

Three phase one switch modular-boost/vienna power factor corrected (PFC) rectifier

2017 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2017
The power conversion circuit of a three phase Vienna or Modular-Boost switching power factor corrected (PFC) rectifier uses three controlled switches, eighteen diodes and two output split capacitors. Three PFC controller circuits are necessary for conversion circuit's voltage regulation, power factor control and input current waveform improvement.
