Comparing the Effect of Semi‐Immersive Virtual Reality, Computerized Cognitive Training, and Traditional Rehabilitation on Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

Ofatumumab in Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody–Associated Disease: A Comparison With Rituximab

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), and compare it with rituximab. Methods We conducted a single–center, observational study including 22 MOGAD patients treated with ofatumumab and 21 treated with rituximab.

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Risk of Non‐Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Patients Treated with GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.

Power Factor revisited

2020 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), 2020
Power factor has been used for over a century as a rule of thumb to estimate the cost of the losses incurred in delivering reactive power. But it has been extremely troublesome to apply to three-phase systems. The same load might be penalized by some instruments, and not by others. There have been two noteworthy efforts at solution. In 1919 a committee

LED Power Factor and Quality Factor

2019 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2019
This paper presents the LED power factor and quality factor simply characterized from the available terminal average current, average voltage, and RMS current to evaluate the electric power quality of LEDs. The LED average power is composed of the bandgap power and the resistive power due to the forward voltage and equivalent series resistor in the LED

Power factor and power factor control alternatives for mines

Conference Record of the 1988 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2003
The benefits of controlling power factor are briefly reviewed. Power-factor compensators suitable for mine power systems are discussed along with a novel implementation of an adaptive power factor controller. An economic analysis technique for determining the amount and type of compensation is given.

Reactive power and power factor

Electrical Engineering, 1933
GENERAL definitions exist for potential, current, and active and reactive power, that are independent of wave form and of circuit conditions. In order to use these quantities in circuit analysis when there are harmonics present, it is necessary to know their individual harmonic components.

The power factor in mechanical system

2013 IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics (ICM), 2013
This paper represents a analytical, simulation and experimental study of power factor in mechanical system. In electrical system, power factor is often used to evaluate how intense we can use the electrical power as a active electrical power. It is useful when considering the power consumption of the electrical system.
