On the Convergence of Newton's Method in Power Flow Studies for DC Microgrids [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2018
The power flow is a nonlinear problem that requires a Newton's method to be solved in dc microgrids with constant power terminals. This paper presents sufficient conditions for the quadratic convergence of the Newton's method in this type of grids.

Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.

Supersonic shear layer characteristics of two fluids with a splitter plate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Nuclear Reactor Design and Technology, 2021
Supersonic shear layer development affects mixing between the primary and secondary fluids in a supersonic ejector substantially. The splitter plate plays a key role in shear layer development in the near-trailing-edge region.

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.
