Vibrational Power Flow Analysis of Rods and Beams [PDF]

open access: yes
A new method to model vibrational power flow and predict the resulting energy density levels in uniform rods and beams is investigated. This method models the flow of vibrational power in a manner analogous to the flow of thermal power in a heat ...

New Possibility of Lines Power Flow Control

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2005
Present time is characteristic with increasing requests of consumers on the quality and quantity of delivered energy. In regard to financial and time difficulty of building up new power plants and distribution lines, producers and distributors must find ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Hierarchical optimal power flow control for loss minimization in hybrid multi-terminal HVDC transmission system

open access: yes, 2016
A hierarchical control scheme is proposed for optimal power flow control to minimize loss in a hybrid multiterminal HVDC (hybrid-MTDC) transmission system.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Study of multi-objective optimal power flow of AC–DC hybrid system with DCpower flow controller

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The DC power flow controller (DCPFC) is a hotspot in DC power flow analysis and control field, which can effectively improve the power flow control degree of DC power grid. The DCPFC is usually installed at the DC bus of the hub converter station.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
