Impact of power deviation ratio on selection of sites to build solar power generation system

2017 4th International Conference on Advances in Electrical Engineering (ICAEE), 2017
As it is important in today's world to harvest electricity from renewable energy to meet the increasing demand of electricity, solar energy is an attractive source to harvest energy from. This paper focuses on figuring out the conditions appropriate for the selection of a site or region to setup a solar power generation system and also justifies the ...

Power Correlation Coefficient of a Very General Fading Model in Maximal Ratio Combining

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2010
A very general fading scenario is considered for which exact, closed-form formulas for the correlation coefficient of the instantaneous power at the output of a Maximal Ratio Combining receiver is derived. The model includes the main fading environments as very particular cases. It is valid for both identically and non-identically distributed multipath

Impact of peak to average power ratio reduction techniques on Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing for 5th generation systems

Computers and Electrical Engineering, 2021
Abstract Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) is the advanced multi-carrier methodology proposed for a reliable operation of the 5 t h generation (5G) systems. It has been observed that the performance of GFDM is hampered by the elevated peak to power ratio (PAPR).

Impact of altitude and power rating on power-to-weight and power-to-cost ratios of the high altitude wind power generating system

Renewable Energy, 2018
Abstract This paper presents a static comprehensive optimization study and analysis of the high altitude wind power (HAWP) generating system based on the medium voltage AC (MV-AC) transmission. The analytical expressions for weight and cost of the transmission line, the mechanical structures (turbine + frame), the generator, and the blimp/aerostat ...

Low peak-to-average power ratio for next generation cellular systems with generalized frequency division multiplexing

2013 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems, 2013
With the Internet of Things on the horizon, novel services will impose new challenges upon future cellular systems. One key parameter that influences the energy efficiency is peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). PAPR is particularly revelant for cheap mass market terminals.

On Power and Sample Size Calculations for Likelihood Ratio Tests in Generalized Linear Models

Biometrics, 2000
Summary.A direct extension of the approach described in Self, Mauritsen, and Ohara (1992,Biometrics48, 31–39) for power and sample size calculations in generalized linear models is presented. The major feature of the proposed approach is that the modification accommodates both a finite and an infinite number of covariate configurations.

Dependence of generation market power on the demand/supply ratio: analysis and modeling

2000 IEEE Power Engineering Society Winter Meeting. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37077), 2002
In an electricity market with a power-pool structure, total generation capability and forecasted demand are the critical factors for generators attempting to strategically bid into the market or to exert their market power. Some power plants might be under their maintenance schedule and/or forced outage.

Generalized Likelihood Ratio Tests and Uniformly Most Powerful Tests

The American Statistician, 1990
Abstract For testing a one-sided hypothesis in a one-parameter family of distributions, it is shown that the generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) test coincides with the uniformly most powerful (UMP) test, assuming certain monotonicity properties for the likelihood function.

An adjustable output power ratio general type branch line coupler

2015 IEEE MTT-S 2015 International Microwave Workshop Series on RF and Wireless Technologies for Biomedical and Healthcare Applications (IMWS-BIO), 2015
An adjustable output power ratio branch line coupler design is proposed. The mixed transmission line and shunted capacitor T-type equivalent circuit replaced the arms of the general branch line forms the tuning mechanism. By changing the shunted capacitors values, the power at output ports could shift to the desired ratio.

Approximation of peak-to-average power ratio of generalized frequency division multiplexing

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2019
Abstract Generalized frequency division multiplexing (GFDM) is a generalized form of the multi-carrier system with a flexibility to vary the number of subcarriers, the number of time slots and the associated pulse shaping filter for achieving desired performance.
