Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

A siamese neural network model for phase identification in distribution networks
Distribution system operators (DSOs) often lack high-quality data on low-voltage distribution networks (LVDNs), including the topology and the phase connection of residential customers. The phase connection is essential for phase balancing assessment and

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Grid simulator for power quality assessment of micro‐grids [PDF]
In this study, a grid simulator based on a back‐to‐back inverter topology with resonant controllers is presented. The simulator is able to generate three‐phase voltages for a range of amplitudes and frequencies with different types of perturbations, such as voltage sags, steady‐state unbalanced voltages, low‐order harmonics and flicker. The aim of this

For the Grid and Through the Grid: The Role of Power Line Communications in the Smart Grid [PDF]
Is Power Line Communications (PLC) a good candidate for Smart Grid applications? The objective of this paper is to address this important question. To do so we provide an overview of what PLC can deliver today by surveying its history and describing the most recent technological advances in the area. We then address Smart Grid applications as instances

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.
