Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

Detailed Investigation of the Eddy Current and Core Losses in Coaxial Magnetic Gears through a Two-Dimensional Analytical Model

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications
This work introduces a 2D model that calculates power losses in coaxial magnetic gears (CMGs). The eddy current losses of the magnets are computed analytically, whereas the core losses of the ferromagnetic segments are computed using an analytical–finite

Computation of Losses in HTS Under the Action of Varying Magnetic Fields and Currents

open access: yes, 2013
Numerical modeling of superconductors is widely recognized as a powerful tool for interpreting experimental results, understanding physical mechanisms and predicting the performance of high-temperature superconductor (HTS) tapes, wires and devices.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Analysis of Power Loss of 20 kV Power Distribution

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In the distribution of electrical energy from the plant to the consumer, there is a decrease in quality due to the loss of power (losses). These power losses are caused by a voltage drop across the line and subsequently producing a power loss on the line.

Optimal Allocation of Multi-DG on Distribution System Reliability and Power Losses Using Differential Evolution Algorithm

open access: yes, 2017
The paper proposes the effects of multi-distributed generators (multi-DGs), which is integrated into the distribution system in terms of reliability indices and power losses.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Modelling the power losses in the ferromagnetic materials

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, the problem of describing power losses in ferromagnetic materials is considered. The limitations of Steinmetz formula are shown and a new analytical description of losses in a considered material is proposed.
