The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A simplified analytical approach for optimal planning of distributed generation in electrical distribution networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
DG-integrated distribution system planning is an imperative issue since the installing of distributed generations (DGs) has many effects on the network operation characteristics, which might cause significant impacts on the system performance. One of the

Electric Power Loss Minimization In Power Supply Systems For The Suburban Houses

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics, 2018
The main purpose of the research is the development and improvement of methods for minimizing power losses for non-sinusoidal and asymmetric modes of operation of power supply systems for suburban houses. To achieve the goal, it has been necessary to make the analysis of existing ways and methods to reduce power losses during non-sinusoidal and ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
