Oscillation of Repeated Max-Weighted Power Mean Compositions of Fuzzy Matrices

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
In the literature, the powers of a square fuzzy matrix with respect to the max-weighted power mean composition have been shown to always converge. This study considers the max-weighted power mean composition for a sequence of fuzzy matrices.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

On relation between the power mean and the logarithmic mean

open access: yes, 2010
If x , y are distinct positive numbers, then Mp= Mp (x , y) is called the power mean of x and y .

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Approximate minimum BER power allocation for MIMO-THP system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper proposes a transmit power allocation (TPA) scheme based on multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) structure, where a TPA matrix is introduced to the conventional MIMO-THP.

Index of a bivariate mean and applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2016
Exploring some results of (Raïssouli in J. Math. Inequal. 10(1):83-99, 2016) from another point of view, we introduce here some power-operations for (bivariate) means.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

ON THE GENERALIZED CONVEXITY AND CONCAVITY

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2015
A function ƒ : R+ → R+ is (m1, m2)-convex (concave) if ƒ(m1(x,y)) ≤ (≥) m2(ƒ(x), ƒ(y)) for all x,y Є R+ = (0,∞) and m1 and m2 are two mean functions. Anderson et al.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
