Microphysiological Glomerular Filtration Barriers: Current Insights, Innovations, and Future Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The glomerular filtration barrier (GFB) is the first step of blood filtration by the kidneys. The concerning increase of kidney diseases makes the development of new models essential. In this context, microphysiological glomerular filtration barriers focus on closely reproducing the physiological architecture of the in vivo GFB: podocytes, glomerular ...

Inequalities of Hermite–Hadamard type for functions whose derivatives in absolute value are convex with applications

open access: yesArab Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2015
In this paper some new Hadamard-type inequalities for functions whose derivatives in absolute values are convex are established. Some applications to special means of real numbers are given. Finally, we also give some applications of our obtained results

Several integral inequalities for (α, s,m)-convex functions

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2020
In this paper, we establish several new integral inequalities for (α, s,m)-convex functions. We recapture the Hermite-Hadamard inequality as a particular case.

Geometric-type Sobolev inequalities and applications to the regularity of minimizers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The purpose of this paper is twofold. We first prove a weighted Sobolev inequality and part of a weighted Morrey's inequality, where the weights are a power of the mean curvature of the level sets of the function appearing in the inequalities.

A Simple Proof of the Entropy-Power Inequality via Properties of Mutual Information

open access: yes, 2007
While most useful information theoretic inequalities can be deduced from the basic properties of entropy or mutual information, Shannon's entropy power inequality (EPI) seems to be an exception: available information theoretic proofs of the EPI hinge on ...

W‐Based Thin Film Metallic Glasses Doped with Ni, Zr, and B for Industrial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work is the first to deal with a comprehensive comparison of two metallic glass systems, W–Zr–B and W–Ni–B, in terms of their suitability for specific industrial applications. Their mechanical and tribological properties are compared and discussed in combination with structural homogeneity on different types of technically relevant substrates and ...

SOME NEW GENERALIZATIONS OF HADAMARD–TYPE MIDPOINT INEQUALITIES INVOLVING FRACTIONAL INTEGRALS

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2020
In this study, we formulate the identity and obtain some generalized inequalities of the Hermite–Hadamard type by using fractional Riemann–Liouville integrals for functions whose absolute values of the second derivatives are convex.

On Hermite-Hadamard type inequalities for n-polynomial convex stochastic processes

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2021
In this note, our purpose is to introduce the concept of n-polynomial convex stochastic processes and study some of their algebraic properties. We establish new refinements for integral version of Hölder and power mean inequality.

On some inequalities for the matrix power and Karcher means

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2013
Abstract We establish a useful inequality for matrix power means of positive definite matrices. It eventually provides not only a new characterization of the Karcher mean (Cartan centroid, Riemannian geometric mean) but also a simple proof of the convergence of power means to the Karcher mean.
