Peptide Sequencing With Single Acid Resolution Using a Sub‐Nanometer Diameter Pore
To sequence a single molecule of Aβ1−42–sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), the aggregate is forced through a sub‐nanopore 0.4 nm in diameter spanning a 4.0 nm thick membrane. The figure is a visual molecular dynamics (VMD) snapshot depicting the translocation of Aβ1−42–SDS through the pore; only the peptide, the SDS, the Na+ (yellow/green) and Cl− (cyan ...

Measurement‐based wide‐area damping of inter‐area oscillations based on MIMO identification
Interconnected power grid exhibits oscillatory response after a disturbance in the system. One such type of oscillation, the inter‐area oscillation has the oscillation frequency in the range of 0.1–1 Hz.

Robust damping control of power oscillation incorporating parametric resonance
AbstractIn this paper we consider a damping control of low‐frequency oscillations in an electric power system. On the basis of the hypothesis that an auto‐parametric resonance model can explain a power oscillation, we propose a new model for a robust damping control, by which the system maintains stability even if some auto‐parametric resonance happens.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Inflationary Steps in the Planck Data
We extend and improve the modeling and analysis of large-amplitude, sharp inflationary steps for second order corrections required by the precision of the Planck CMB power spectrum and for arbitrary Dirac-Born-Infeld sound speed. With two parameters, the

Effect of suppressed excitation on the amplitude distribution of 5-min oscillations in sunspots [PDF]
Five-minute oscillations on the Sun (acoustic and surface gravity waves) are excited by subsurface turbulent convection. However, in sunspots the excitation is suppressed because strong magnetic field inhibits convection.

The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.
