Impact of Hysteresis on Calendar Aging Mechanisms on Three‐Electrode Cells With Silicon‐Rich Anodes

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
Strong voltage hysteresis in Si‐rich anodes complicates calendar‐aging analysis, making the assignment of OCV time‐series data to the GITT‐derived OCV curve unreliable and requiring indirect estimation of anode aging. Calendar aging is dominated by irreversible lithium loss caused by continuous SEI growth on the anode.

Effects of Simulated Herbivory on the Thermal Resilience of Two Temperate Seagrass Species

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study investigates how reduced leaf size via simulated herbivory influences the thermal performance of temperate seagrasses. Simulated herbivory enhanced physiological performance and resilience under elevated temperatures in Posidonia australis, but not in Heterozostera tasmanica.

Strategic Risk Assessment of High‐Speed Rail Development in India Using an Integrated SWOT–Fuzzy DEMATEL Framework

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
High‐speed rail projects involve complex technical, financial, environmental, and regulatory challenges. This study proposes an integrated SWOT–Fuzzy DEMATEL framework to systematically identify and analyze the interactions among strategic factors affecting HSR development in India.

A Review of Overcurrent Protection in Smart Grids Under Cyber‐Physical Threats With a Cyber‐Physical Evaluation Framework

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3948-3973, August 2026.
By manipulating current and voltage measurements, an assailant can induce unwanted relay action while attempting to avoid detection. Detecting advanced cyber intrusions in power protection environments requires specialised data analysis and anomaly detection methods.

Decentralized Federated Learning for Wind Turbine Bearing Prognostics Under Data Scarcity and Statistical Heterogeneity

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3674-3696, August 2026.
This paper proposes a decentralized peer‐to‐peer federated learning framework for wind turbine bearing remaining useful life prediction, introducing a virtual client paradigm in which statistical health indicators serve as independent feature‐level clients—enabling privacy‐preserving collaborative prognostics from a single physical asset under ...
