Power Motivation, Stress and Physical Illness
Journal of Human Stress, 1980College students reporting a large number of life change events in the past six months also reported significantly more frequent and more severe instances of physical illness and more affective symptoms in the same time period. These relationships, however, were modified in an interesting way by type of life change and by individual differences.

Power Grid Physics and Implications for CAD
IEEE Design & Test of Computers, 2007This article describes a full-die dynamic model of an Intel Pentium IV microprocessor design. The authors show that transient supply noise is sensitive to nonuniform decoupling-capacitor distribution, and that supply-drop locality is a tight function of frequency and package-die resonance, leading to significant localized resonant effects.

NEUROExos: A Powered Elbow Exoskeleton for Physical Rehabilitation
IEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2013This paper presents the design and experimental testing of the robotic elbow exoskeleton NEUROBOTICS Elbow Exoskeleton (NEUROExos). The design of NEUROExos focused on three solutions that enable its use for poststroke physical rehabilitation. First, double-shelled links allow an ergonomic physical human-robot interface and, consequently, a comfortable ...

Power reactor health physics in the 1960s
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2004This note is a personal re-collection of some of the problems and experiences of the Health Physics Department staff at Dungeness Power Station during the period 1963-1971. This was a period of construction, commissioning, operating and learning.

Aerobic Power, Estimation of Physical Ability, and Attraction to Physical Activity
Research Quarterly. American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation, 1978Abstract This investigation consisted of two studies. The purpose of Study 1 was to examine the associations between estimation of physical ability, attraction to physical activity, and aerobic power in young adult males (N = 30) and females (N = 30). The findings were in general agreement with Sonstroem's physical activity model in that estimation of ...

Poynting Vector and the Physical Meaning of Nonactive Powers
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2004This paper explains how the disputed energy oscillations associated with nonactive powers can be attributed to electromagnetic waves that travel back and forth between the transmission line's sending and receiving ends. Such waves "hug" the conductors and dwell in the dielectric that surrounds the conductors.
