The general tendency of the electric power supply industry is toward the centralization of power stations, embracing a variety of loads. In order to be consistent with this development it is highly desirable that power stations be standardized in essential features, so that they may combine their resources toward the ideal arrangement.

Power production by Olympic weightlifters
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 1980A new procedure was developed for calculating power production during Olympic lifting movements and comparisons were made with a method previously used. The power output of seven superior lifters was determined during selected phases of the snatch, clean, and jerk, from films taken at the 1975 U.S. National Championships.
