On Power Jaccard Losses for Semantic Segmentation

open access: yesProceedings of the 16th International Joint Conference on Computer Vision, Imaging and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications, 2021
In this work, a new generalized loss function is proposed called power Jaccard to perform semantic segmentation tasks. It is compared with classical loss functions in different scenarios, including gray level and color image segmentation, as well as 3D point cloud segmentation. The results show improved performance, stability and convergence.

Guided Machine Learning for Power Grid Segmentation [PDF]

open access: yes2018 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference Europe (ISGT-Europe), 2018
The segmentation of large scale power grids into zones is crucial for control room operators when managing the grid complexity near real time. In this paper we propose a new method in two steps which is able to automatically do this segmentation, while taking into account the real time context, in order to help them handle shifting dynamics. Our method

Information sufficient segmentation and signal‐to‐noise ratio for 3D astigmatism stochastic optical localization nanoscopy

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2022
It is known that 80% power effective data segmentation with Airy and Gaussian point spread functions (PSFs) for 2D imaging achieves sufficient Fisher information and is appropriate to define signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) of a data frame.
