Power Series Methods and Multisummability

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2000
Summary: We recall the notion of a power series summability method and show, using results of Balser and A. Beck, that existence of a power summability method which is stronger than multisummability would be equivalent to existence of an entire function with certain particular properties. We then prove that such entire functions cannot exist.

Power Series Methods

2012
Thus far in our study of linear differential equations, we have imposed severe restrictions on the coefficient functions in order to find solution methods. Two special classes of note are the constant coefficient and Cauchy–Euler differential equations.

Power Series Methods

2018
We have studied linear differential equations with constant coefficients and have solved such equations using exponential functions. In general, a linear differential equation with variable coefficients cannot be solved by the use of exponential functions.
