Dedicated power supply system for silicon photomultipliers

open access: yes, 2016
Silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) have replaced traditional photomultiplier tubes bit by bit in high-energy physics experiments in the last years. This includes the scientific fields where the demand for highly efficient and stable photo sensors outweigh ...

Accurate reactive power sharing and voltage-frequency recovery strategy for multiple grid-forming converters based on consensus algorithms

open access: yesEnergy Reports
In isolated AC microgrids, parallel multi-inverter systems face challenges in precisely distributing reactive power output from distributed generation (DG) units due to varying DG parameters and mismatched line impedances.

Is photovoltaic power a cost-effective energy solution for rural peoples in western Sudan? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Sudan like most poor countries suffers from a deficiency in the supply of electrical power, especially for rural areas. Less than 10% of the total population, can benefit from the national grid connection.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Line Loss Calculation with Meteorological Dynamic Clustering and Photovoltaic Output Reconstruction

open access: yesEnergies
To solve the problem that traditional line loss calculation methods have errors exceeding 8–12% under complex weather conditions (e.g., typhoons) due to insufficient characterization of meteorological-photovoltaic (PV) coupling effects, this paper ...

Investigating the Effect of Water Contamination on Gearbox Lubrication based on Motor Control Data from a Sensorless Drive [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Water is one of the most significant destructive contaminations to lubricants which in turn lead to more power consumption and early damage to rotating machines.
